Back in 2007, I kept  myself with lots of new clients.  But not a lot of repeat clients.  That’s not good.  I took a good look at my business and realized that I was doing a great job of connecting with people, building rapport, and earning their business.

But KEEPING the business was a whole different scenario.

My appreciation efforts were more on the grand scale – events, client appreciation parties, that sort of thing.  But letting my clients know personally?  I was HORRIBLE at it.  And I knew I needed to fix that fast or I would be out of business in no time flat.

The turkey leftovers are already getting old.  Heard today in the Tait household: “I can’t do another meal with turkey!”  Ahh, these are the sounds of the Christmas season being officially upon us!  You know what else that means?

The inevitable whirlwind that always happens in between Thanksgiving and Christmas has begun. We run around, buying presents, attending parties, and watching as every day slips by.

In all of the hustle, who has time or energy to get to those holiday cards??

Business Relationships.  They’re THE single most valuable asset in your career.  And it doesn’t matter what you do for a living – relationships are everything.

Most sales people, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and independent contractors understand this.  But most are at a loss on how to really make those all important business relationships flourish and grow.

Let’s face it.  It’s simply not enough to be connected to people on social media and send an occasional email newsletter.  We have to be proactive.  We have to reach out to the people in our networks.
